Everything about Kappa!

kappa are one of the more popular farm animals on ling. this is most likely because of their ability to be easily tamed, and the quantity of fur and milk they produce. they can also learn simple commands but most owners just keep them for produce.

general information:

baby kappa are referred to as "kids"

appearance:

kappa are covered in soft fur that helps protect them during the winter, it is brown most of the year but if it happens to snow their fur will turn a white color until it is warm out again, the males have bright antenna and a horn, the females have slightly shorter antenna with duller colors, and no horn and the babies have light blue spots covering their fur, they have no horn, and very short antenna.

intelligence:

kappa aren't the smartest creatures but are certainly more intelligent than some others, they can learn a few commands if taught when young, and are normally quite good at being trained if you spend enough time with them. they can learn commands like sitting down, following you, running, etc

nature:

kappa lay about 3 eggs in at the start of winter, and stay with the babies until they can live on their own, they are naturally very friendly creatures and get really attached to their owners, despite this they will not hesitate to attack you if you go close to them where there are babies nearby, in the wild they travel in large flocks of about 23 kappa, and mainly move at night. because of this kappa have antenna that glow in the dark, helping them know where to go, they eat grass along with berries and sometimes insects they find, but in captivity, they seem to enjoy some vegetables as well, in the wild they can use very simple wind magic to rustle leaves, this helps them find food, or scare off predators.

wild and domestic:

wild kappa can actually still be tamed if you are able to gain one's trust, but most of the time they are timid and will run away if you get to close or attack if they feel you are a threat to the flock. other critters almost never approach them as they would almost certainly get trampled, wild kappa are very fast and can travel an extremely long way away, making them hard to catch

domestic kappa are quite a bit different as they are normally kept in smaller groups, they are bred mainly to produce milk, witch both males and females can do, but since they are kept inside during the night most domestic kappa have a much duller glow to their antenna, and are not as fast if they have not been bred specifically to be a mount. although they can only become a good way to travel if you happen to have an exceptionally well-trained one.

the main reason kappa are so popular is because they make milk that is available all year round, it is a light blue color and is really sweet tasting,

it could also be because the fur they shed is commonly used to make clothes and beds, very few actually eat Kappa though, as the meat is extremely bitter and not many like it, although it does have minor healing property that can help with small cuts and grazes

babies:

baby kappa or "kids" are small defenseless little balls of fluff, unlike adult Kappa, kids make a constant "chirp" noise, which means that you can almost always spot them out. they stay extremely close to their parents until they are older and if you get to close you will certainly be attacked by the flock, but if you do manage to catch one they will do nothing to try and stop you, as they are quite slow, and can't run far, they are often taken by Arakin or Lumicress from the wild, but most return them to the flock after awhile, as the constant chirping is really annoying. when sleeping kids will huddle together and pile on top of each other,

so how do i get one?

well, you cant really "own" you're a kappa, as they are a farm animal and not a pet. but you can draw them whenever you want! and if you would like, your Arakin or Lumicress could even own a farm and have a flock of kappa that would stay there, you just can't have one as a 'pet'

you don't have to ask to draw a Kappa or any other farm animals
